Product Description
Clindamycin / Miconazole Nitrate is a medicine that is used for the treatment of Bacterial infections of internal organs, Lower respiratory tract infections, Skin and skin structure infections, Gynecological infections, Intra-abdominal infections, Septicemia and other conditions.
It is indicated for the treatment of mycotic infections of the skin and nails and super infections due to Gram-positive bacteria.

Pharmacodynamic Properties of Clindamycin Phosphate
Clindamycin is a lincosamide antibiotic with a primarily bacteriostatic action against Gram-positive aerobes and a wide range of anaerobic bacteria. Lincosamides such as clindamycin bind to the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome similarly to macrolides such as erythromycin and inhibit the early stages of protein synthesis. The action of clindamycin is predominantly bacteriostatic although high concentrations may be slowly bactericidal against sensitive strains.
Pharmacokinetic Properties Of Clindamycin Phosphate
  • Absorption:
Rapidly absorbed after oral administration with peak serum concentrations observed after about 45 minutes. Absorption of an oral dose is virtually complete (90%) and the concomitant intake of food does not appreciably modify the serum concentrations; serum levels have been uniform and predictable from person to person and dose to dose. Clindamycin does not penetrate the blood brain barrier.
  • Protein Binding:
  • Metabolism:
  • Route Of Elimination:
Approximately 10% of the bioactivity is excreted in the urine and 3.6% in the feces; the remainder is excreted as bioinactive metabolites.
Pharmacodynamic Properties of Miconazole Nitrate
Miconazole nitrate is an imidazole antifungal agent and may act by interfering with the permeability of the fungal cell membrane. It possesses a wide antifungal spectrum and has some antibacterial activity.
Pharmacokinetic Properties of Miconazole Nitrate
  • Absorption:
There is little absorption through skin or mucous membranes when miconazole nitrate is applied topically.
  • Distribution:
Absorbed miconazole is bound to plasma proteins (88.2%) and red blood cells (10.6%).
  • Metabolism & Excretion:
  • Route Of Elimination:
The small amount of miconazole that is absorbed is eliminated predominantly in faeces as both unchanged drug and metabolites.

Side Effects:
Do not store above 25°C.
